Psyches of Color (POC) programs are designed to create culturally responsive, healing-centered spaces that support the emotional well-being, development, and empowerment of Black and Latinx youth, young adults, and their families. Through creative expression, mental health education, peer connection, and community engagement, our programs provide participants with tools to explore identity, process experiences, build resilience, and strengthen supportive relationships. Each program is intentionally developed to affirm lived experiences while fostering growth, leadership, and collective healing.
A safe space for healing and recovery begins with feeling seen, heard, and valued. Our programs are designed to create supportive environments where participants can openly explore their experiences, process emotions, and build tools that support their well-being. Through culturally responsive practices, peer connection, and guided activities, we encourage reflection, resilience, and growth while honoring each person’s unique journey toward healing and recovery.
Our programs integrate mental health education with healing arts, cultural identity, and community-centered practices to support the holistic well-being of youth and families. Grounded in Black and Latinx cultural traditions and influenced by hip hop as a form of expression and storytelling, our approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and rooted in positive youth development. Through community-based participatory research, transformative justice principles, and a commitment to radical healing, we create spaces where participants can build resilience, explore identity, and collectively imagine pathways toward personal and community liberation.
